Zeus, Greek God, Play'n GO

When it comes to naming gods and goddesses in mythology there are few names that come straight to mind, Thor, Odin, Poseidon but there is one that comes to mind above the rest, literally, like literally above in the clouds of Mount Olympus. Zeus, God of the Skies.

At Play’n GO we like to put our own spin on these mythologies, keep reading to find out where Zeus appears in the Play’n GO Universe.

Who is Zeus?

Zeus, Rise of Olympus

Son of the mighty titan Cronus, Zeus and his brothers led a revolt against their father. Well, Cronus discovered a prophecy that said that his sons would eventually dethrone him, in particular, Zeus would be the one to take his throne. Cronus wasn’t quite ready to give up his throne so swallowed Zeus (gulp!).

And that’s the end of the story…

Just kidding!

Rhea, Zeus’ mother and Cronus’ wife sneakily wrapped stones in Zeus’ blankets tricking Cronus into thinking he’s swallowed the baby.

A now-adult Zeus united with his brothers Poseidon and Hades to take down their father, and guess what… they succeeded!

What is Zeus the god of?

Enemy felled, the brothers were given their place to rule. Hades, God of the Underworld. Poseidon God of the Seas and Zeus, God of the Skies.

But he was more than just the god of the skies, he became a ruler and a protector of the other gods who you see in Greek Mythology: Athena, Ares, Hera, Aphrodite and Hermes to name a few.

A father figure. The King of Olympus.

What does Zeus look like?

Zeus, Rise of Gods: Reckoning

Often depicted with a thunderbolt in hand and a head full of thick white hair, Zeus has a pretty iconic look.
